Alpha Delta Pi is known as the first ever secret society for women, founded in 1851. Originally known as the Adelphean Society, the sorority was founded on the principles of scholarship, service, sisterhood and self. Their open motto is "We Live for Each Other". Alpha Delta Pi currently has 155 chapters across the United States and Canada along with 140 alumnae associations. Several notable alumni from across the country include actress Kathy Bates, singer Karen Fairchild, news anchor Nancy Grace, actress Danica McKellar as well as several politicians, authors and television personalities.
